CHESS POCKET PARK fulfills the goals of the City of St Louis’ Sustainability Plan while offering fun, active, strategic chess
play to children and residents of Old North, while enhancing the area’s reputation as a place for families. The park is built simply and maintained by volunteers.
The park provides chess lessons and mentoring, as well as tournaments by the Chess Club of St Louis, and supports the values of the Triple Bottom Line:
1. PEOPLE supported by community space and learning activity.
2. PLANET supported by low impact development.
3. PROFIT engaged by BIG community returns for low cost investment.
